Conservatives Welcome Council Tax Freeze

Liverpool City Council announced in January that it would freeze council tax for the forthcoming year.

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Garston and Halewood, Richard Downey, welcomed the announcement, “In 2008 Liverpool Conservatives proposed a council tax freeze which would be funded by reducing unnecessary Government spending on consultants and advertising.”
“I am delighted that the Council have listened to our proposal to help hard working families during the recession. However Liverpool Conservatives would go one step further and freeze council tax for at least two years – not just for an election year.”
