City of Liverpool Conservative’s chairman, Dr David Jeffery joined fellow Merseyside chairs and colleagues at a special event at 10 Downing Street, hosted by current party chairman, The Right Honourable Greg Hands MP. After walking through the halls of Number 10 in the footsteps of past Prime Ministers, they joined a reception in the famous Rose Garden on a beautiful summer evening.
They discussed with Mr Hands the need and desire for more party support in campaigning across all Merseyside constituencies, the desire to engage our members in more party events and activities, the plans and vision for the next General Election and building on the Conservative levelling-up projects already making progress across the area. They were also intrigued to learn that Mr Hands counts a famous Liverpool-born music icon among his constituents in Chelsea & Fulham.
The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, joined the event to welcome the guests and give his thanks to those who volunteer for the party. Hands delivered a warm address and praise for party volunteers and members alike for their ongoing support and hard work. He addressed the current by-elections and gave more information on the selected candidates and the campaigns ongoing.
The event was made complete with an appearance from the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office, whom was exactly as he regularly appears to be in the media and certainly didn’t disappoint, easily living up to his reputation,
