The Merseyside Conservative Ladies Luncheon Club were delighted to host special guest speaker, Lord Peter Lilley at their Christmas Luncheon at the Adelphi Hotel, on Friday 2nd December.
At what was a wonderfully enjoyable event, Lord Lilley spoke with great humour and affection of a long and varied career including his time in the Department of Social Security, his introduction of Incapacity Benefit, his strong support for Brexit and his time in opposition, as among other things, Shadow Chancellor.
He graciously answered questions about the current state of British politics, the NHS, Covid recovery, the cost of living situation and of course the future of Brexit.
The next Luncheon will be held on Friday 3rd February at 12pm at The Adelphi Hotel. More details are available from Alma McGing via firstname.lastname@example.org.
