Conservative Chancellor George Osborne recently announced a doubling in funding for councils to repair pot holes, from £100m to £200m. The extra money has come from savings made by the Department of Transport.
The last Labour Government left the economy in a mess with record levels of debt and the largest budget deficit of any major economy. Despit this, Chancellor George Osborne managed to help Liverpool and many of its residents in his recent budget.
